Jaime Penalva (Casares, 1996)

In 2023, he premiered his first feature film, ‘Chavales,’ at the 33rd Málaga Fantastic Film Festival ‘Fancine.’ The film won the award for Best Animation Project at the 2023 Association of Madrid Illustration Professionals ‘APIM’ awards. It also received other recognitions, such as the Best Sound award at the Linares Independent Film Festival ‘Cinenovisto.’ The film was selected for international festivals like the ‘Sanfici’ International Independent Film Festival in Santander (Colombia). In February 2024, the film was released on the streaming platform ‘Filmin,’ and in May of the same year, it had a commercial release in cinemas. A series project based on the film’s universe was selected at Cartoon Springboard 2024.

He produced the vertical format animated web series ‘LAGUNAK,’ available on TikTok, Instagram, and YouTube Shorts. He also directed the short film ’25 haikus animados.’

He is currently working on the production of the short film ‘Vengador Frenesí,’ which was presented at the ‘Animadeba’ festival’s WIP and the ‘Animalcoi’ festival’s ‘Pitch sessions.’
