I’m Marinie Ruiz from Cabañas Ahedo. My area of specialty as an illustrator
is Food Illustration or Gastronomic Illustration. Through it I intend to convert gastronomic elements into visual art.
I design and create food illustrations for food products, recipe books and the commercial field in general. Each work of art I conceive is carefully designed to enhance the identity and flavor of the food it houses, thus turning each product into an exceptional visual expression. I look for food products to have an irresistible and appetizing appearance. My illustrations for food packaging transform products into authentic culinary creations, attracting the attention of consumers.
My approach focuses on fusing visual aesthetics with artisanal authenticity. I firmly believe that beauty and craftsmanship should be present in our daily lives, even in an environment dominated by large-scale consumption. For me, each illustration is a visual reminder of our essence as human beings, and through packaging design, I aspire to create emotional connections that transcend the daily routine, reminding us of the importance of beauty and uniqueness in every detail of our lives.
I have worked with various brands, including Rana, Fresca, Consum, Sanissimi and the Spanish Serrano Ham Consortium. For publications such as El País, Buen Vida and Sobremesa. I have had the pleasure of writing about my work in the world of packaging in Infopack Magazine, one of the most read magazines specialized in packaging in Spain. In addition, I have been able to exhibit my work at different festivals, among which DIBUMAD stands out at the Palacio de Cibeles, Madrid, Mazoka Festival in Vitoria, Sindokma in Valencia.
As for the ideas that fuel my work, Mexico is reflected in it in different ways. Color in my illustrations is fundamental for me. I like to create original and unique color ranges for each job. It must convey an aesthetic sense but, above all, give the images a life of their own.
