Hi, I’m Taina Almodovar, Curious and passionate dominican-spanish illustrator. I’ve made a MA Children’s Literature: Children’s Book Illustration in 2014 were I started working with different editorials.
My picture book “What good friends do” was selected in 2023 by Ibby International Selection of Outstanding Books for Young People with Disabilities and was exposed on the Ibby Stand in Bologna’s Children’s Book Fair 2023.
Also, is part of the permanent collection of the Toronto Public Library in Canadá and part of the international tour 2023-2024 where it will be part of International Book Fairs in Argentina, Frankfurt, Cuba and Japan.
My book “L’home de color blau Brillant” (The man in brilliant blue”) was selected best illustrated book in Spanish and Catalan at Liber Book Fair in Barcelona, Spain. My work has been exhibited in places like the Altos de Chavón Gallery (Dominican Republic); the MACBA, the CCCB and the Museum of Design (Barcelona); the Centro Cultural Conde Duque (Madrid); Universidad Autónoma de Occidente (Cali, Colombia), among others.
Also, I have been the happy first place winner in the illustration competitions «Jóvenes Talentos Mahou», en Pinta Malasaña, «Madrid me gusta», one of the 80 most outstanding dominicans in the Oscar de la Renta Award and special price from the Embassy of the Dominican Republic in Spain for my work in Literature and Plastic Arts.
I love to make illustrations for picture books, children’s toys, merchandising, patterns, magazines and painting murals. Can’t wait to work together!
