Me llamo Sara Gummy, nací en Ronda, un pueblo precioso de Málaga, al sur de España. Desde que era joven quería ser como esos artistas que disfrutaban dibujando y creando obras increíbles. Siempre me fijaba en los dibujos animados, las portadas de los libros, publicidades y muchas cosas que nos rodean a diario que tienen la esencia de algún artista. La ilustración está muy presente desde hace años, y yo quería ser parte de ese gran movimiento. Me mudé a la ciudad en 2010, para estudiar Ilustración en la escuela de arte San Telmo. Dos años después, Estudié un Master en Diseño Gráfico y Preimpresión en la Escuela de Diseño Gauss Multimedia. Al terminar mis estudios ya empecé teniendo mis primeros clientes como Freelance, y en 2014 comencé trabajando de Directora de Arte en Freepik y Flaticon. Desde entonces, he recibido muchas ofertas de trabajo de diferentes partes del mundo.

Algunas de las empresas para las que he tenido el placer de trabajar son Mojilala, Principia Magazine, Ninive Toys, Popkoon, Sofar Sounds, Tactikswolf y algunas más, que no puedo mencionar por el momento.
Tengo trabajos destacados en diferentes redes de Behance como: Wacom Gallery, Student Show, Interaction Gallery and Illustration Gallery. Además de tener otro trabajo destacado en la famosa red creativa, Domestika.
Además de mis trabajos destacados, he sido mencionada en importantes blogs creativos como Area Visual, Macho Dominante, Not Another Fashion Blog, Design Ideas, Colectivo Bicicleta y Misstechin Geek Blog. La técnica que más utilizo es la ilustración vectorial, aunque siempre intento definir algunos acabados en Photoshop. Además, también me gusta trabajar con tintas y acuarelas. Para terminar, mi mayor influencia es el estilo Kawaii, una tendencia que nace de la cultura japonesa. Kawaii significa «lindo» o «tierno». En cada ilustración, siempre trato de dar ese toque alegre y mágico que viene de esta tendencia.

 

I’m Sara Gummy, was born in Ronda, a beautiful town in the south of Spain. Since I was young wanted to be like those artists who enjoyed drawing and creating incredible works. Always looked at cartoons, book covers, advertisements and many things that surround us daily that have the essence of some artist. The illustration has been very present for years, and I wanted to be part of that great movement. I moved to the city in 2010, to study Illustration at San Telmo art school. Two years later,
studied a Master’s in Graphic Design and Prepress in the School of Design Gauss Multimedia. At the end of my studies, Started having my first clients like Freelance, and in 2014 started working as Art Director at Freepik and Flaticon. Since then, i’ve received many job offers from different parts of the world. Some of the companies I’ve had the pleasure of working on are Mojilala, Principia Magazine, Ninive Toys, Popkoon, Sofar Sounds, Tactikswolf and some more, which I can’t mention at the moment. I’ve outstanding works in different networks of Behance like: Wacom Gallery, Student Show, Interaction Gallery and Illustration Gallery. In addition to having another outstanding work in the famous creative network, Domestika. In addition to my outstanding works, I’ve been mentioned in important creative blogs like
Visual Area, Macho Dominante, Not Another Fashion Blog, Design Ideas, Colective Bicicleta and Misstechin Geek Blog. The technique that i use most is the vector illustration, although always try to define some finishes in Photoshop. Besides, I also like to work with inks and watercolors. To finish, My biggest influence is the Kawaii style, a trend born of Japanese culture. Kawaii means «cute» or «tender». In each illustration, I always try to give that joyous and magical touch that comes from this trend.
